Revamped blue carpet tour showcases region's economic assets

The Chamber's Economic Development team hosted the first of three newly revamped Blue Carpet Tours for 2019 last week as the Chamber team welcomed consultants from across the country to Memphis for a dynamic day-and-a-half tour of the Bluff City.

Unknown-7The new tour format is designed to bring smaller groups to Memphis for intensive tours and meetings to showcase the region’s strong business climate and economic assets.

Five consultants visited Memphis, making stops at Crosstown Concourse, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the FedEx Super Hub.

In addition to spending time with the city and county mayors, consultants had the opportunity to hear presentations from Chamber partners at Epicenter, University of Memphis, EDGE, Downtown Memphis Commission and to meet representatives from the Chamber's One Stop Shop team including Tennessee Valley Authority and MLGW. Chamber Chairman Richard Smith also made a presentation about his company's recent decision to relocate its headquarters to Downtown Memphis
