Jonathan Pennington, an Audit & Assurance managing director in Deloitte & Touche LLP, is based in Memphis, where he’s held several different leadership roles within the organization, including Memphis Marketplace leader and Tennessee Office Audit Leader.
With more than 26 years of public accounting experience, Jonathan serves clients in manufacturing, transportation/logistics, healthcare, real estate, and consumer business. 
With 80,000-plus employees in the U.S. alone, Deloitte is one of the largest professional services organizations. Deloitte’s Memphis office includes more than 130 professionals offering locally based audit, tax, risk and financial advisory, and consulting services to clients across multiple industries.
“We advise many of the area’s organizations through periods of dramatic growth, challenges, and life-changing events," Jonathan says. "During our long history serving the Memphis marketplace, we’ve offered a strong local practice with a global reach.”
As a proud member of the Memphis community, Deloitte invests substantial resources to support the growth and potential of this city. He says their purpose “is to make an impact by creating trust and confidence in a more equitable society. We do that by supporting nonprofits through donations, volunteerism, pro bono, skills-based volunteering, and board leadership.” Some of the organizations they work with include United Way of Memphis and the MidSouth, New Memphis, National Civil Rights Museum, Junior Achievement of Memphis and the MidSouth, JDRF, and Boys and Girls Club.
Jonathan and his wife Katie have been married for 18 years. They enjoy vacationing at Rosemary Beach, Florida, with their two children. When he’s not working, he also enjoys SEC college football and baseball and playing golf.
What most excites him about Memphis: “I believe that the culture in Memphis is second to none. This is a city that has great food, music, and most importantly, great people. It is a large city with a small-town feel and I think that makes Memphis special. I love the 'grit & grind' slogan for Memphis. It embodies who Memphis is: good folks working hard to make a difference.”
