The Chamber spends a few days each year showing off Memphis business assets to site selectors and consultants visiting from all over the country during the Blue Carpet Tour. These consultants are the individuals who make decisions about where companies all over the world will choose their next location, based on a multitude of factors. We welcomed 20+ site selectors to Memphis this August for this year's event.

The week included panels of business leaders sharing firsthand why Memphis is a great place to do business, tours of available Memphis properties and examples of companies who have already taken advantage of our city's assets - including MAA at the TraVure building in Germantown, ServiceMaster's new headquarters in Downtown Memphis, International Paper's corporate headquarters in prime Class A office space in East Memphis, adaptive reuse in Crosstown Concourse, and a tour of the magic that happens every day at the FedEx World Hub.

Partners like the University of Memphis shared innovative workforce training programs taking place to fill needs in the workforce pipeline and create good-paying jobs for Memphians, and our friends at the Shelby County Alliance shared the big picture of the many neighborhoods and communities that make the Mid-South thrive.

And it wouldn't be Memphis if we didn't show off the soul of our city - with a home base at The Peabody, The South's Grand Hotel, our consultants also took advantage of the Rock 'n Soul Museum, the STAX Museum of American Soul, Beale Street, and Elvis Presley's Graceland.

Memphis is a great (and affordable) place to live, work, and play, and we’re thrilled for the opportunity each year to share that firsthand with these influencers in the business world.

This important event wouldn't be possible without our sponsors, who are just as committed to Memphis as we are.
