Here at the Greater Memphis Chamber we love to celebrate business growth and development! There's nothing like standing beside you as you open the doors to your new business or reveal your new expansion. That's why we offer our members our expertise and assistance with hosting grand opening and expansion ceremonies. Thank you to our Ribbon Cuttings sponsor, Paragon Bank for helping us support local businesses like you. Today, we are happy to be celebrating Carolina Watershed, Memphis' newest food, drink, and beautifully landscaped outdoor space to spend the day with friends.
Why Memphis? Why this location?
The property is part of a long-term vision for Carolina Avenue, with the goal of converting and reinventing abandoned property, improving streetscape and building density of dining and entertainment options in the South End.
What does your business provide?
We provide excellent food at a low price, and a unique experience to those in the Memphis area. Our farm fresh southern fare features re-imagined down-home classics like the pork belly BLT, loaded pulled pork cheese fries and delta tamales with corn chowder. The backyard serves as a playground for all ages with rocks, cascading waterfalls, cozy nooks, an overlook and a stage area for live music. Every element offers a new experience to those visiting Carolina Watershed.
What makes you stand out?
With a food and restaurant scene that is highly-competitive, it can be challenging for a new restaurant to stand out in Memphis. What sets our venue apart from others in the area is the unique architecture.
Carolina Watershed is a bar and restaurant housed inside of a metal grain silo, one that you would typically see on a farm to store grain. Prior to us opening, there was not a place in the Memphis area that offered this particular kind of dining experience. That’s something we continue to be excited about.
Why did you join the Chamber?
We wanted to join the Greater Memphis Chamber as a way to stay plugged into the community. Memphis is a city in which we are honored to do business. It’s known for great food and music, and our venue offers both of those things. As a restaurant that’s still very new to Memphis, we wanted to get connected to business leaders, organizations and local groups with strong ideas as we continue to grow and build our brand.
