Here at the Greater Memphis Chamber we love to celebrate business growth and development! There's nothing like standing beside you as you open the doors to your new business or reveal your new expansion. That's why we offer our members our expertise and assistance with hosting grand opening and expansion ceremonies. Thank you to our Ribbon Cuttings sponsor - Paragon Bank - for helping us support local businesses like you.

Today, we are happy to be celebrating member Concorde Career College on the opening of their new Occupational Therapy Assistant Clinic, training students and allowing local patients who are often either underinsured or uninsured to regain physical independence.

Concorde Occupational Therapy Assistant Clinic

What does your business do?

Concorde Career Colleges, Inc. is proud to prepare America’s next generation of health care and dental professionals through accelerated, career-focused, hands-on training and teaching.

We operate 16 campus locations across eight states. While Concorde incorporated in 1988, many of our campuses have been serving their local communities for 50+ years. Concorde – Memphis opened in 1979.

We’re proud to integrate clinical rotations and patient interaction into many of our curricula. Among other programs, our occupational therapist assistant student sees community patients before they graduate.

Under the direction of our Concorde faculty, in our new clinic, our students are excited to worth with adult patients to help them regain improved quality of life and overcome physical challenges due to injury, illness or other conditions.

Why does your business stand out?

We are providing a variety of skilled occupational therapy services at lower than market cost to those who may have limited access/opportunities.

All clients must have a physician’s order for occupational therapy evaluation and treatment. Sessions are scheduled weekly and prefer multiple visits to maximize functional performance.

We offer evaluations, functional and therapeutic treatments, recommendations on home modifications and adaptive equipment, community resources, home exercise programs and discharge planning.

What was your motivation for opening this business?

Our motivation was two-fold. Like our dental clinic on campus, our motivation was to provide services to those that fall through the gaps of benefits or insurance, while also offering our students opportunities to apply their theoretical and skills-based knowledge in a practical way and gain interpersonal confidence through patient interaction before they graduate.

Who is your target market?

We’re pleased to welcome the uninsured or underinsured adult population in the Memphis community to provide quality occupational therapy services to those that need to enhance their functional performance or improve their independence in activities throughout their day.
